We will not give away the email adress and it won't be displayed on the mantis pages. The email adress is only neccessary for the primary activation of the Mantis-account and in the case that you forget your passwort. As a general advice - if you haven't done so already create a secondary email-adress at some freemail service to use for forum registrations and only access (and empty it from spam) when you're expecting an account activating message. That way your primary email adress will have less spam (not every forum allows you to hide your eMail adress as ours does).

Added lines 77-85:

Everyone working on translations or proofreading will get developer access to the translation project. This will allow him to change the status of any ticket posted there.
Anyone (including those who do not help) can then post new tickets to inform the translators and proofreaders of errors found in the translation. Those tickets should then be checked by team members or those who help in coordinating the translations. Anything that is confirmed by one of them is open for correction by any translator or proofreader.
Translators and proofreader should look for the yellow "confirmed" tickets. If they find one they want to work on, they should click on the ticket to get to the detail page with an extended description and/or the file to be worked on attached.
As they have developer access they can see a new line of buttons below the description. The important one is the second one from the left. It is labeled "Zuordnen zu" and has a field displaying either a user name or "[Ich selbst]" below. Hitting the button assigns the ticket to the user listed in the field - "Ich selbst" translates to "myself" and assigns the ticket to the person logged in and clicking the button. Usually you simply hit the button, the name should be correct.
This will tell everyone that you're working on that part of the translation. If you're finished you can attach the resulting language file to the ticket and post a message ("notiz") telling that.
After that someone will check if the work is completed (you can also post partial work and add a message what is left to do if you do not have the time to continue) and then use the third button "status wechseln zu" to change the status of the ticket to "erledigt" or "confirmed" if there's work left to do.

If you have any questions please post them in our forum or look at the original english description on http://www.mantisbt.org/

When you click on "Probleme anzeigen" you will see a page which lists all reported tickets. This page is divided into a top area for filtering and a bottom area for the ticket list.
The original settings for the filters are made to display all open and recently closed tickets. This should be enough in most cases and I will not explain every filter field here. However there is one filter field that has to be noted:
On the top right, above the area where the usual filters are, there is the project filter.
In most of the cases it should be set to "Alle Projekte" (which means all projects of course), but when you enter a new ticket that is automatically changed to the project where you entered the ticket. If you do not see all tickets you probably have to set this field to "alle Projekte" again.

If you're only interested in specific tickets (the translation for example) you can set this field to that project.

In the ticket list the status of each ticket is color-coded. Each status has its own color.
  • "neu" - color light red/orange - means "new" and is assigned to all new tickets when they are entered.
  • "Rückmeldung" - color light violett - means "clarification needed" and is usually set when we cannot identify the listed problem or when we need more details to solve it.
  • "anerkannt" und "bestätigt" - dark and light yellow - are two variants for "confirmed". Those are set by the developers if a problem needs to be solved at a later time.
  • "zugewiesen" - color blue - is usually followed a name since it means "assigned to". The person listed there has accepted the task to solve the problem listed in the ticket. In the case of translations that should be the translator or proofreader who checks those language files.
  • "@60@" - red - unused, you will not find a ticket with this status.
  • "erledigt" - green - means "completed", the task has been solved (in case of translations the completed file should have been added to the ticket).
  • "geschlossen" - grey - alle completed tickets are automatically changed to "closed" after a little more than a month. Closed tickets are not displayed by the default filter settings, but can be made visible again by changing those settings.

Registration

Everyone can view and read public error tickets on Mantis, but in order to report a new error or to post a comment on a previously reported error you need to be logged in with your own account.

If you're not logged in you'll see two links in the first line below the green mantis logo: "Anmelden" and "Neues Konto Anmelden"
"Anmelden" stands for the user login of registered users.
"Neues Konto Anmelden" is the link for a new account registration. Since most of the english users probably don't have an account yet this second link is the first step to create an account.

The next page for creating a new account should look familiar to anyone who's been around the internet for a while. Simply enter a new account name into the field "Benutzername" (preferrably the same one used in the forum), your email address in the second field and type the code pictured into the last field (to protect from bot registering).
After that you can click on the button "Anmelden" ("Log In").

The next page will inform you that an email with an activation link has been sent to the specified email address. You have to confirm the activation by clicking on the link in that email within 7 days - any account not confirmed within a week will automatically be deleted.

The Link "Weiter: Hier klicken" below that message can be translated as "click to continue" and will be used on several pages within mantis. Sometimes (not always) the link will contain an autodirect to continue after a few seconds even if you don't click on it.

To continue you have to click the link in the email. This link will send you to your account page and requires you to set a password - and repeat that password in the field "Bestätige Passwort".
You can also enter your real name into the field "Wirklicher Name" if you want, but that isn't neccessary.
After you've entered your password click on "Benutzer aktualisieren" to update your account data.

When logged in this page can be accessed by hitting the link "Konto" in the top navigation line. There are other account pages that can be used to customize the display and behaviour of mantis, but the preconfigured settings should be OK.

Logging in

If you aren't logged in in a later visit you have to click on the word "Anmelden" directly below the mantis logo to get to the log-in screen. There you'll see a field "Benutzername" for your user name, the field for the password and a checkbox "Anmeldung speichern".
If you check that box before confirming your log-in with the button "Anmeldung" you will remain logged in indefinitly on that computer (or until you log-off manually)

The navigation bar

There are several links in the top navigation bar after you've logged in.
The most important ones are "Probleme anzeigen" to view error tickets and "Probleme eingeben" to enter new errors or feature requests.

If you click on "Probleme eingeben" to report an error you get a page requesting the project where the error occured ("Projekt wählen"). The choices should explain themselves, but don't hesitate to ask in the forum if you're not sure - and we can always move a ticket to a different project if there was an error.

If you wish to report a mistranslation you should choose "Translations" as the project and hit the button "Projekt wählen" to continue.
On the next page please use the first field "Kategorie" to report in which language you detected the mistranslation (or other problem). Ignore the next two fields and choose the program version in the field "Produktversion".
You can then enter the description in the text field, but do not forget to select the specific language file with the problem below the text fields.

If you want to include a file to demonstrate the problem (or where you have already solved it) then hit the button "Durchsuchen" and follow the usual file selection.
Otherwise hit "Bericht absenden" to post the ticket.

The Mantis pages have been translated to German because most of the work is currently done in Germany. This page will describe the most important buttons and german headlines to the english part of our community so that those will also be able to use the mantis pages for reporting bugs and especially to manage and coordinate the translations of X-Force into different languages.
